Liz Palena Hall is the Acting Director for the Division of Digital Quality Measurement in the Center for Clinical Standards and Quality at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Prior to CMS, Liz was the Interoperability Systems Branch Chief at the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC, now the Assistant Secretary for Technology Policy) leading health IT policy implementation for the Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement (TEFCA) and leading several initiatives to support the interoperability of social determinants of health data. She also previously served as the Long-Term and Post-Acute Care Coordinator at ONC.
Liz has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Penn State University, a Master of Science in Information Science from the University of North Carolina and a Master of Business Administration from George Washington University.
Liz’s career in healthcare and information technology extends over 25 years and includes work in a variety of healthcare and academic settings as a registered nurse, clinical informaticist, and educator.
